I can’t take the credit for both of these, I got the idea for Santa for my friend and fellow crafter, Molly. I thought that there need to be a Mrs. Claus gift card holder also.
This is how I made mine.
1. Cut red cardstock at 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, on the long side score at 2 1/8″ from both ends. This will make the center fold.
2. Cut a flesh color at 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″, adhere his to the center inside of your card.
3. Using white cardstock I cut 4 1/8″ X 2 3/4″ for the DVD’s. I used a circle punch to cut out the legs, then a black marker to draw the stitch lines, glue only the sides and bottom.
4. I cut a strip at 5 1/2″ X 1 1/2″ out of white card stock, then used a border punch to punch both sides, this is for my fur.
5. For the belt I cut a 3/4″ X 9″ piece of black for the belt. I used a Stampin up punch for the buckle in gold card stock. With a craft knife make two slits to slide the belt through. Now just wrap the belt around the card and glue it together, making sure it will slide on and off.
Now for Mrs. Claus, Step 1 and 2 are the same as Santa.
3. Cut a piece of white cardstock 3 1/2″ X 4 1/8″, I used a circle punch to form the top of the corset. Using red thread to stitch down the center of the corset. Adhere to the center inside, only gluing the sides and bottom.
After putting the center piece in close the card and punch with the circle punch to form her waist. I sort of trimed it to round it alittle.
With white card stock punch a scollop punch, just cut alittle from two sides to make the collar. Once again black marker to add detial. Center a 12″ piece of ribbon, glue only in the back, bring around and tie a bow.
